I guess I'm usually distracted by the fantastic colors found in their wings.
All that yellow with spots of blue and then those little smidgens of orange. Then there are the intricate patterns that trace a delicate path across their wings.
It's no wonder that these little guys are viewed as creatures of hope and new life.
When I took this last image I knew it was something special. The angle I had to stand to get the shot and the position of the sun completely blew out all color and shape in the right side while creating a vibrant wash of color on the left. I still didn't realize what it would, in essence, say but when I read this verse I knew they went together.
Moreover, the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day when the LORD binds up the brokenness of his people, and heals the wounds inflicted by his blow. Isaiah 30:26
Brokenness comes to us in this world. Pain is a stark reality of our fallen state. But God promises that healing will come and that He will bind up the wounds of His people. Hope will land gently bringing a rousing light and flourishing color to us once again.
